Origins and History of Fukuroi Kita Matsuri
Fukuroi Kita Matsuri grew out of autumn festivals held at local shrines and has continued as a festival for the Fukuroi Kita district.
Its origins are linked to “himachi,” a traditional community event. The festival has been passed down as an occasion to celebrate a bountiful harvest and pray for good health.
Even after the Fukuroi Matsuri became a large festival following the Imperial Enthronement Ceremony of Emperor Showa and the economic boom of the Heisei era, the northern district has continued its own festival.
