Editorial Policy

Respecting the culture behind what makes something interesting

We do not call events or culture “fun” in order to make fun of them.We respect each place’s history, the dedication of the people who keep its traditions alive, and the meaning passed down through generations, and share the joy of learning about and visiting them.

We look beyond fame and scale to include small community events and new festivals rooted in the region.

Yorimichi
We take “interesting” seriously and give it our all!

Useful information for visitors, grounded in official sources

We prioritize information published by organizers, local governments, tourism associations, and venue operators, and organize details such as dates, locations, how to participate, fees, and access. Where necessary, we cross-check multiple sources and list references in the sources or official information section.

We take care not to confuse past event records with event information announced for a particular year. We do not assume that an event is “free,” “does not require reservations,” or “open to everyone” just because information is unavailable. We treat unverified details as unconfirmed or refrain from publishing them.

Koyomi
We carefully check the evidence and share accurate information!

Use of AI and editorial review

We use AI and automated processes to research and summarize festival information, organize text, fill in details, and classify content. We may also use AI to create articles. Some articles automatically incorporate details supplied by AI, and not every page has been individually checked by our editorial team.

AI can misread sources, use outdated information, or confuse different events. We work to improve this through processes that check consistency with reference materials, identify missing information, and make manual corrections as needed. If an error is found in published content, we’ll verify the supporting evidence before correcting it.

Omusubi
We use AI technology to bring you the latest information!

How we distinguish blog posts, features, and event reports

Our blog covers useful information for visitors, such as how to find festivals, ways to enjoy them in each season, and what to wear or bring. Our features take an in-depth look at a festival or region and include coverage, on-site reports, and explanations based on source materials.

Being labeled a feature does not mean that every article is based on on-site reporting. We distinguish between experiences from events we have actually attended or covered and introductions based on published materials, and do not describe events we have not attended as personal experiences.

Yorimichi
We go to festivals ourselves, too!

How we handle photos and illustrations

Festival feature images and similar visuals may use AI-generated or reference illustrations to convey the atmosphere. These are not documentary photos that show actual festival scenes or accurately reproduce venues, costumes, crowd sizes, or other details. We use photographs of actual scenes when their connection to the festival and terms of use can be verified. We display details such as the photographer, date taken, source, and license to the extent known and as required.

Detailed photo information may be provided alongside an enlarged view or source information.Photos from past years do not show this year’s event conditions. We also take copyright, image rights, and photography rules into consideration when using supplied or commissioned photos. If you have a concern about rights or published content, please let us know and include the relevant page and image.

Koyomi
We use illustrations and photos that help get the message across!

We distinguish advertising from editorial content

We label any content that constitutes advertising, a sponsored partnership, or an affiliate promotion with terms such as “PR,” “Advertising,” or “AD.” Even when we prioritize sponsored festivals that match your search criteria, we make it clear that they are advertisements.

We do not present unverified information as fact because of advertising fees or affiliate commissions.Advertising inquiries are handled separately from routine information submissions and correction requests. For more details,AdvertisingPlease see

Omusubi
We’re always happy to hear about advertising, promotions, and publicity opportunities!

About maps, weather, and nearby facilities

Maps are displayed based on the venue name, address, municipality, or similar information, so they may not match the actual entrance or event area.We publish weather forecasts as available, but they may change.

Opening hours at nearby facilities, accommodation rates and availability, and product prices and stock levels may also change. Information from external services reflects the details available when it was retrieved. Please prioritize the latest information from the venue or booking provider.Reservations and purchases are made under contracts with the respective service providers.

Yorimichi
Check the weather and information about the area before you head to a festival!
