Origins and History of Neyagawa Festival

The Neyagawa Festival began as a proposal to strengthen community ties at a time when rapid population growth led to frequent turnover among residents.

Proposed by Neyagawa Mayor Yoshio Kitagawa, the first festival was held in 1978.

Until the late 1990s, the festival was held in various parts of Neyagawa City. The venues were consolidated to make the festival bigger.

In 2016, it was also held in late November in conjunction with the Eco Festa and Agricultural Festival.
