Origins and History of Kigyosai
Kigyosai began with the “Start of Operations Ceremony” held at the government-run Yahata Steel Works in 1901 (Meiji 34), November.
It was originally held as a company festival organized by the steelworks, centered around November 18, the date operations began.
In 1985 (Showa 60), it became a community festival organized by an executive committee, and its timing shifted to around November 3, when it is held today.
