Origins and History of Setagaya Bread Festival

Setagaya Bread Festival began in 2011.

It was conceived by the Mishuku 420 Shopping Association as a way to energize the neighborhood, making use of the fact that Setagaya is home to many well-known bakeries.

Around 40 shops took part in the first edition, which attracted approximately 7,000 visitors. The festival later added Setagaya Park as a venue and expanded to a 2-day event in 2015.
