The Miki Hardware Festival began in 1952 as a hardware trade fair.

It was renamed in 1984, and in 1986 the former supporting organizations became the organizers in order to make it a larger, more vibrant community festival.

Since 1992, it has been held on the first Saturday and Sunday of November.
