Origins and History of Miki Genki Festival

Miki Genki Festival began in 2011.

It is described as having been planned to revitalize the community amid an economic slump following the Great East Japan Earthquake, declining production of hardware—a local industry in Miki City—and a poor harvest of Yamada Nishiki rice, which contributed to stagnation in the area.

It was later held at venues including the area in front of Miki City Hall and Aeon Miki, and reached its 6th edition in 2017.
