Origins and History of Kishiwada October Festival

The Kishiwada danjiri festival is said to have begun in the mid-Edo period, when the lord of Kishiwada Domain held an Inari festival to pray for a good harvest.

In Kishiwada City, the Kishiwada and Haruki districts are classified as the September festival, while the other districts are classified as the October festival.

Kishiwada-style danjiri developed into a form close to its present-day design during the Edo period and has been passed down by local communities for generations.
