Kosetsuen is a park centered around a landscape garden developed as the Iwafune family's villa in the 1890s.
The grounds feature a brick greenhouse and a garden pavilion incorporating the style of a traditional tea house, creating a harmonious blend of Japanese and Western design.
In 2001, it was designated a Place of Scenic Beauty as a nationally designated cultural property garden under the name “Former Iwafune Family Garden (Kosetsuen).” Today's festival makes the most of the garden and its autumn foliage.
