Festival highlights
The main highlight is the frame banner, a red flag attached to a wooden frame.
The frame banners are generally about 10–20 meters tall. The “Kinshaki” banner of Fukasao Shrine in Nishiyanachi-ku is described as measuring 9 meters 80 centimeters long and 1 meter 55 centimeters wide for the flag section alone.
Sarutahiko leading the procession with his dance is also an impressive sight, and visitors can enjoy the banners moving against a backdrop of clear autumn skies and golden rice fields.
