Origins and History of Ose Taiko Odori

According to local tradition, Heike warriors who fled after their defeat settled in Ose.

The taiko dance is described as having once been performed during the Bon season at Kannon-do Hall, where the spirits of the defeated warriors were enshrined.

Many songs are said to have been performed in the past; today, members of a traditional performing arts class and others continue to pass down the dance, performing a smaller selection of songs.
