Origins and History of Natori Summer Festival

Natori Summer Festival began around 1985 as a community summer festival in Natori City’s Yuriage district.

Because the Yuriage district suffered extensive damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake, the festival was held at elementary schools elsewhere in the city from 2012 onward.

In 2022, the festival returned to the Yuriage district as its 37th edition, and in 2026 it marked its 41st edition.
