About Matsuyama Port Festival

Matsuyama Port Festival is a summer fireworks festival held mainly at Mitsuhama Port in Matsuyama City.

At Mitsu Pier, fireworks are launched from land, over the water, and underwater, creating three-dimensional displays that make the most of the harbor scenery.

The event has been held since 1951, and local students also perform before the fireworks.

Festival highlights

The highlight is a display of fireworks that spreads not only across the night sky but also over the surface of the sea.

Enjoy displays that make use of the harbor’s water, including starmines, underwater fireworks, and underwater peacock fireworks that fan out.

Before the fireworks, the powerful sound of local students’ Suigun drums creates a striking spectacle of its own.
