What to expect

Sports events, the Flower Candle Message, and the Festival were scheduled for the middle day, while the Performance Parade and Fire Finale take place on the final day.

The Hiroshima Flower Festival was conceived following the excitement generated by the Hiroshima Toyo Carp victory parade held along Peace Boulevard in 1975, and was first held in 1977.
The first festival drew a total of 1.25 million people over 3 days, and it has been held every year since.
It was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and held on a smaller scale in 2021.
