Festival highlights

The main highlight is the Hot Spring Offering Festival, where Hagihime, dressed in a costume from the Northern and Southern Courts period, presents hot spring water to each inn.

Ceremonies and rituals for drawing water from the source are held at the hot spring source site to express gratitude for the hot springs.

On the 2nd day, the Hagihime Festival Fair brings the area in front of the station to life with food stalls, food trucks, a beer garden, and music and drum performances.

What to expect

The festival begins with the Hot Spring Thanksgiving Festival at Yusen Shrine, followed by the Hot Spring Offering Festival at the hot spring source site.

The offering festival includes ceremonies related to the hot springs, as well as rituals for drawing water from the source, sprinkling the water, and distributing it.

The following day, the Hagihime Festival Fair is held at the special event venue in front of JR Bandai-Atami Station, with food vendors, stage events, and taiko drum performances.

How to take part

The Dedication of Hot Spring Water Festival and the Hot Spring Appreciation Festival are held as religious rites, so general visitors mainly attend as spectators.

At Hagi-hime Ennichi in front of the station, you can enjoy food stalls, food trucks, a beer garden, and stage events.

No information about competitions for general participants or advance registration has been confirmed, so the usual way to take part is to visit the festival and watch the events.
