Origins and History of Wakura Onsen Omatsuri Hall

Plans for the facility were set in motion after the Seihakusai float procession was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016.

The Wakura Onsen Kanko Kaikan, completed in 1981, was renovated to create exhibition rooms and other facilities.

It was originally scheduled to open on April 25, 2020, but the opening was postponed due to the spread of COVID-19, and the facility opened on June 1, 2020.
