About Sanjo Summer Festival

Sanjo Summer Festival is one of the signature summer events in Sanjo City, held in the urban area, including around Ichinokido Shopping Street.

The program centers on the Citizens’ Folk Dance Parade and the Grand Fireworks Show, bringing together local dancing and music with fireworks.

The festival traces its roots to the Sanjo Hardware Festival, held in 1952 when local hardware dealers invited their business clients.

In 1968, it resumed as Sanjo Summer Festival, a festival involving the whole community.

Approximately 4,000 fireworks are planned, including starmines and successive large-shell fireworks.
