Tips for photo selection

Festival atmosphere: We welcome photos that convey the unique appeal and atmosphere of the festival, such as its , , dances, costumes, and venue scenery.
Easy-to-view photo: We recommend photos with a clearly visible main subject and no excessive camera shake or blur. Photos taken with a smartphone are also welcome.
Differences between scenes: If you are sending multiple photos, including different scenes—such as the overall venue, highlights of the event, and close-ups of costumes or decorations—can make it easier to showcase the festival’s appeal.
Photo description: For each photo, describe what it shows and where or in what setting it was taken. Knowing the date it was taken makes it easier to verify the information for publication.
Edit image: Natural adjustments to brightness and color, as well as exposure blending using photos actually taken, are acceptable. We do not accept excessively edited photos, such as those whose colors or shapes have been changed to differ significantly from reality, or images with subjects added that were not present in the original.

JPEG, PNG, or WebP format (up to 20 MB per image when selected). Before sending, images will be resized so the longest side is no more than 1,600 px, and saved at no more than 500 KB each. Please convert HEIC files to JPEG or another format.
