Festival highlights
A highlight is the progression from a solemn seated ceremony centered on the mikoshi, through the serving of food, to carrying it out.
The attendants eat the feast served on taro leaves placed on an oshiki tray, then rise with a cry.
A distinctive feature is the transition from the quiet progress of the ritual to the scene of the mikoshi being carried.
