Origins and History of Kubiki Festival

The Kubiki Festival is a summer festival started by the village youth association during the days of the former Kubiki Village.

It grew alongside the development of Kubiki Village and reached its 37th edition in Heisei 27 (2015).

The festival continued to be held with the whole community’s support after the municipal merger in Heisei 17 (2005). During the Great East Japan Earthquake, the venue was moved, and later the festival returned to the central plaza at Kibokan.
