Origins and History of Komaki Heisei Summer Festival
Komaki Heisei Summer Festival began in 1989 (Heisei 1), drawing inspiration from the Yakumo Float Parade in Yakumo Town, Futami District, Hokkaido, a friendship city of Komaki.
It has been introduced as a festival where Nebuta-style dashi floats parade through central Komaki City, with dance performances and handheld fireworks also featured.
Following the 2019 change to the Reiwa era, the festival was renamed “Komaki Reiwa Summer Festival.”
The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021, and held on a smaller scale in 2022.
