Festival highlights
A highlight is the sight of shagiri boats decked with lanterns sailing around Suimon Bay to the sound of flutes and drums.
The boats approach the place where the ritual is held and continue their cruise after receiving sacred sake from the chief priest.
Along with the ceremony and Karashimakko Japanese drumming, fireworks light up the night sky, offering a chance to enjoy boats on the water, music, and fireworks all at once.
