Origins and History of Iwamizawa Saika Festival

The festival grew out of the Iwamizawa Ayame Festival, which was held through 2001.

It was first held in 1977, and in 2002 the rose garden at Iwamizawa Park was added as a venue. The festival was renamed the Saika Festival and expanded.

Today, it is presented as a flower festival held at Ayame Park, Iwamizawa Park, and venues in the city center.
