Origins and History of Nippon Domannaka Festival

The Nippon Domannaka Festival was first held in 1999.

It is said to have begun when students from Nagoya, inspired by their experience participating in the Soran Festival in Sapporo, set out to create a lively festival in Nagoya themselves.

It went on to become an annual event, and has continued to this day following the establishment of an organizing body and its incorporation as a foundation.

The festival was held online in 2020 and 2021.

Official information

Official information is available on the website of the Nippon Domannaka Festival Cultural Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation.
